According to recall documents, the radio software may prevent the rearview camera signal from passing through to the media screen.
Chrysler first learned of the backup camera problem in October 2023, after which they reviewed warranted and complaints to understand the issue. In May 2024, Fiat Chrysler attributed the lack of a rearview backup camera image to a radio software issue. A month later, Chrysler decided to issue a recall.
FCA backup camera recall notices will be mailed August 2, 2024. Dealers will update the radio software.
