Kia Recalls 141K Carnival Vehicles For Fuel Leaks

Kia will recall more than 141,000 vehicles due to a fuel leak risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases fire risk.

The recall, which affects 2022–2026 Kia Carnival minivans, addresses fuel leaks that occur at the pipe connection between the fuel pipe and the fuel rail. The issue occurs due to fuel pipe nuts that may loosen over time.

Kia Carnival owners may confirm their vehicle’s inclusion in the recall through NHTSA’s searchable recall directory starting April 24, 2026. However, formal mail notification will not start until June 2, 2026.

Kia Carnival Fuel Leak Recall: Overview

  • NHTSA ID: 26V232000
  • Kia Recall: SC368
  • Number of Vehicles: 141,032
  • Affected Models: All 2022–2024 and certain 2025–2026 Kia Carnival minivans
  • Production Dates: From January 4, 2021 to November 20, 2025.
  • Vehicle Defect: The high pressure cross over fuel pipe nuts may loosen over time, resulting in a fuel leak.
  • Possible Warning Signs: Fuel smell and/or illumination of the check engine light.
  • Recall Repair: Kia dealers will inspect the high-pressure cross over pipes. If a leak is identified, the dealer will replace the pipes. If not, the dealer will securely fasten the pipe nuts. These repairs will be provided free of charge.
  • Notification Schedule: Kia plans to send mailed notices to owners on June 2, 2026. Dealers were already notified on April 13, 2026.

Why are some later model years included?

Kia included only some vehicles of later model years into the recall because the ross over pipe nut torque specification was updated on November 19, 2024. Kia Carnival minivans manufactured after that date are excluded from the recall.
