Ford Issues Series of Recalls

Ford issued a series of recalls beginning as early as August and as late as October. If your Ford vehicle has problems with cooling, tire monitoring or fire and battery problems, see whether your vehicle can be repaired at no charge under the recalls.

Ford Transit Connect

Ford will recall 3,487 Ford Transit Connect vehicles with 2.5-L engines because a software calibration problem leads to inadequate cooling of the engine. As a result, the vehicles may overheat, sustain damage to the engines and face increased risk of fires.

Dealers will update the power train control module when the recall begins.

Ford Escape

Ford will recall 708 model year 2020 Ford Escape vehicles because of faulty tire pressure monitoring systems. The systems may not warn drivers of low rear tire pressures, which could increase the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the body control module.

Mustang Shelby GT350, GT500

Ford is recalling 833 model year 2017–2020 Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT500 vehicles in Canada because daytime lights may not activate when needed.

Ford said this could reduce visibility for other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford dealers will update the body control module software.

2020 Vehicles

In August, Ford recalled 431 F-150 trucks for battery connection issues and risk of vehicle fires. During that same month, Ford warned about corroding coil springs in 2020 Lincoln Corsairs.

In September, Ford recalled more than 600,000 model year 2020 Ford Explorer, F-150 and Super Duty trucks, Mustang, Transit, Expedition, Escape, Ranger and Edge vehicles, and Lincoln Corsair and Nautilus vehicles.
