A class action lawsuit against General Motors alleges that its Generation IV 5.3-liter V8 Vortec 5300 LC9 engines show excessive oil consumption and cause symptoms that could result in engine failure.
Models listed in the class action lawsuit include the 2010–2014 Chevrolet Avalanche, 2010–2013 Silverado, 2010–2014 Suburban, 2010–2014 Tahoe, 2010–2013 GMC Sierra and 2010–2014 Yukon/Yukon XL vehicles.
The complaints about oil consumption in this class action lawsuit are reminiscent of a separate lawsuit filed against GM for similar defects in the EcoTec engines.
