Ford’s Power Stroke Vehicles Targeted in Lawsuit Again

Fifteen drivers of 2011–2018 Ford diesel vehicles equipped with a 6.7-liter Power Stroke engine and a CP4 fuel injection pump filed a class action lawsuit against Ford.

In the suit, they allege that Ford knew that the CP4 pump was incompatible with American diesel fuel and installed the pump in American vehicle models anyway.

American diesel fuel is cleaner and thinner than its European counterpart.

As a result, it allegedly  fails to provide enough lubrication for the pumps.

Air pockets form, causing metal components to rub together and produce metal shavings that circulate throughout the engine.

As a result, the engines fail without any warning to the driver.

Other class action lawsuits allege that, independent of the CP4 fuel pump component, the 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel engines are prone to other defects.
