Nissan Frontier and Titan Trucks Recalled For Rollaway Problems

Nissan is recalling 2020–2022 Nissan Frontier and Titan trucks because they are at risk of rolling away even when shifted into PARK.

nissan truckMore than 180,000 Nissan Frontier and Nissan Titan trucks with 9-speed automatic transmissions are affected by this recall. Nissan is advising Frontier and Titan owners to engage the parking brake every time they shift into PARK.

The problem occurs because “reduced clearance may cause contact between the edge of the parking pawl and the boss on the transmission case.” As a result, the parking pawl does not engage.

Interim recall notices will be mailed July 20, 2022.

In the meantime, Nissan will try to determine the repair for the Titan and Frontier trucks. Once the repair is determined, Nissan will mail out a second recall notice.
